![]() We tested the phone in downtown Manhattan and saw acceptable speeds for the neighborhood. Unfortunately, it lacks T-Mobile's Band 71 for rural coverage. The BlackBerry Key2 LE is available unlocked through Amazon and Best Buy. It's disappointing to see this feature left out, but it is by no means a deal breaker. If you want to move the cursor or scroll through a webpage, the touch screen is your only option. It doesn't have capacitive touch-the feature that allows you to use it as a trackpad. There is, however, one major feature missing on the Key2 LE's keyboard. It makes dialing phone numbers and adding special symbols to your texts much easier than the traditional method of using the alt key and finding the corresponding character on the keyboard. In addition to the physical keyboard, there's also a touch-screen keyboard. There's also a Speed Key that allows you to create quick shortcuts to apps and tasks, as well as a discreetly placed fingerprint sensor in the space bar. In addition to large matte keys that are easy to find and press, the phone is narrow enough that you can easily type with one hand. For such a small keyboard, typing on it is an absolute joy. Like most BlackBerry smartphones, the Key2 LE features a QWERTY keyboard. At just 5.5 ounces, it's a hair lighter than the Key2 (5.93 ounces) thanks to its plastic frame. It comes in at 5.92 by 2.83 by 0.33 inches (HWD) and has the same 4.5-inch display and textured back to provide extra grip. If you're a fan of the BlackBerry Key2, you're in luck: The Key2 LE is almost identical. That said, if you don't need or want the physical keyboard, you'll get the most bang for your buck with the OnePlus 6T, our Editors' Choice. We think these trade-offs are worth it for the money you save, so we're awarding the Key2 LE a higher score than we gave the original model. ![]() It has a slightly less powerful processor, a plastic frame instead of aluminum, and its keyboard lacks capacitive touch. Like the regular Key2, it offers a physical keyboard and a thoughtful suite of apps focused on productivity and security. The BlackBerry Key2 LE, on the other hand, is a lot more appealing at $449.99. We like the BlackBerry Key2, but $650 is a lot to ask for what's essentially a midrange Android phone with a keyboard and some extra security features.
